London's air quality stinks...

...and it's shortening lives along the worst polluted roads by an estimated nine years. At the launch of the Parliamentary Environment Audit Committee report on air quality, chairman Tim Yeo MP said: "Air pollution probably causes more deaths than passive smoking, traffic accidents or obesity, yet it receives very little attention from government or the media. In the worst affected areas this invisible killer could be taking years off the lives of people most at risk, such as those with asthma." See here for the BBC write-up of today's select committee report.
