The madness of increasing oil production

An excellent open letter from George Monbiot to the Saudi King on the environmental madness of increasing production of oil: Majesty, We Have Gone Mad. The only silver lining is that ramping up production now will hasten the end of the oil economy because we'll use the black stuff up faster. What it probably won't do is reduce the price because the market increasingly understands that demand is going to outstrip demand from now on.
