What a rabble the opposition Labour group are. This week's Council meeting was marred by raucous and rude cackling-cum-heckling from the Labour benches. Bar a couple of honourable exceptions, one of whom came over to apologise afterwards, the behaviour of Labour members was appalling. It was like watching Lord of the Flies. No wonder people are turned off politics.
I had hoped Labour would spend the post-election period trying to understand why they lost, and would re-invigorate themselves as a constructive opposition. It now seems they have decided to concentrate on blustering, bullyboy, contentless arrogance. As Council Leader, Keith Moffitt, said, to thunderous applause, Labour have forgotten how to listen and that's why they lost the election.
