Nick Clegg it is

Nick Clegg has won the race to become leader of the Liberal Democrat Party. He beat Chris Huhne in a close race - by 20,998 votes to 20,477.

In his acceptance speech Nick said he wanted to change politics and change Britain by making them both more liberal. He accused the two main parties of mutating into each other as they scrap over the same bit of political territory.

He said the Tories had "no answers to the big questions" and that Labour was "exhausted and discredited". He urged disaffected voters to join the Lib Dems and said that under his leadership the party would "provide a liberal alternative to the discredited policies of big government".

Gordon Brown, or Mr Bean as the Lib Dem interim leader, Vince Cable, tellingly described him, looks increasingly like yesterday's man, which of course is exactly what he is.
