I really couldn't decide who to choose between Nick Clegg and Chris Huhne for leader of the Lib
Dems. They're both great candidates and frankly I'd be happy with either. Nick probably has a bit more personality but Chris seems to me to be more substantial.

- Chris has been a journalist and a businessman (like me!). I think it's really important that politicians see the world before they enter parliament.
- Although Nick speaks about ten languages my sense is that Chris is more solid intellectually.
- Nick is a bit too much like David Cameron Mark II.
- Nick is only 41 and will surely get another chance.
- I'm told that Chris is better on organisation and management.
- Chris has said he would scrap Trident.
- Chris is vice-president of ALTER, the Lib Dem pressure group that wants to see a land value tax introduced.
- Last, but certainly not least, although he didn't write it himself, Chris did preside over the finalisation of our new Climate Change policy which I think is excellent.
